Southport v Bradford PA preview
Southport are back in home action on Saturday with a visit from bottom of the table Bradford Park Avenue, the kick off is at 3pm.
Manager Liam Watson is gradually getting players back from injury and will be looking for a third win in a row to lift the side up the table. Long term injury victim Nyal Bell will be absent and Jack Doyle will benefit from another week out with the rest of the squad fired up and ready to go.
It was evident last Saturday that Marcus Carver’s presence was a huge lift for everyone, players and supporters and he came through the 90 minutes well and will be in contention for a starting place once again on Saturday.
Our visitors are without a win this season but have picked up three creditable draws on their travels at Kettering, Scarborough and Chorley. It is the home fom that has suffered losing all four games. They do come on Saturday on the back of a four game losing streak in the league and an FA Cup defeat at Ashington.
Last season Southport did the double with a very late Jordan Archer goal sealing the win at home Jordan Archer’s late goal. before The Sandgrounders had a comfortable 5-0 win on the road in the final game of the season. Bradford have proved something of a bogey side at Haig Avenue in the past as the record shows.
