Southport v Farsley Celtic this Saturday
It’s home again on Saturday when we welcome Farsley Celtic to Haig Avenue in Vanarama National League North, kick off 3pm.
It was only a month ago that we travelled to Yorkshire and came away with a 3-0 win. Those that were there that day will remember we rode our luck in the first half defending down the slope and with the wind behind the home side and we were very grateful to go in at 0-0 before a much better second half performance and goals from Adam Anson, Tyler Walton (officially) and Josh Hmami gave us the 3 points.
Southport come into the game in 7th spot in the table after a fine 2-2 draw against leaders Brackley Town on Tuesday preceded by a 1-0 win aganst Choley last Saturday.
Manager Liam Watson has been shuffling his pack recently and it will be another interesting team selection on Saturday.
We will be bringing our popular Match Day Live service from around 1.30pm on Saturday alongside the regular Twitter updates.
Farsley come in to the game fresh having had their scheduled midweek game at AFC Telford called off. They are in 21st place.
They had an excellent 3-1 home win against Banbury last time out. On the road last time they had a narrow 4-3 defeat at Chorley
