Southport Vets is inviting its local community to take a tour behind the scenes of its new £1.1m practice during an Open Day on Saturday 28th January.

Local pet owners will be able to meet Clinical Director and Vet Melissa Holden, Head Veterinary Nurse Sarah Courtney and Southport Vets colleagues to take a tour round the new facilities, uncover what really happens during a day-in-the-life of a practice, and ask everything they have always wanted to know about a veterinary surgery.

Guests will be given a host of information on how to look after their pet, including common poisons to look out for – to keep their animals safe. Basic first aid tips will also be presented and Southport’s veterinary nurses will teach children how to bandage a (teddy) dog.

Visitors can get their pet’s picture taken in a free doggie photo booth, participate in a range of fun activities, and enter a raffle in aid of Pet Blood Bank – with prizes including a year’s free membership to the Healthy Pet Club[1] (worth £200).

In addition, refreshments will be provided, there will be dog and human-friendly cupcakes on offer, and everyone will receive a goodie bag to take home.

Southport Vets Open Day will take place between 11am and 2pm on 28 January on Kew Retail Park, situated on Southport Road. Everyone is welcome to turn up on the day.

The new Southport Vet practice occupies a £1.1m state-of-the-art building on Southport Road, housing the latest veterinary facilities and equipment. Its team of highly skilled vets, nurses and patient care assistants offer a wide range of veterinary services to care for companion animals - including dogs, cats, rabbits and small mammals.

The practice is open Monday to Friday from 08.00am until 18.30pm. New clients can register their pet on Southport Vet’s website https://southport-vets.co.uk/ where they will be asked to enter their details and that of their pet. Clients are eligible for a free pet health check with a Registered Veterinary Nurse if they register their pet by 28 February 2023.
