Spennymoor Town 2 Southport 0
Southport returned from the North East pointless after a 2-0 defeat to a very strong Spennymoor side.
It wasn’t to be our night and the signs were there from early on as the home side were on the front foot from the start and we never really got going apart from a brief flurry at the end of the game.
It was our regular nemesis Glen Taylor who, as he always seems to do against Southport, got the two goals in the 57th and 76th minutes.
Chances were few and far between for Southport with Luke Burgess and Danny Lloyd the only ones to get a shot in at goal and had it not been for four outstanding saves by Chris Renshaw in teh Southport goal the margin of defeat could have been a lot higher.
Line Up: Renshaw, Doyle (Stafford) Spooner(Hilton) Knight-Percival (Quansah) Lloyd, Carver (Owolabi) Moore, Keane, Burgess(Proctor) Minihan, Philliskirk
