Southport completed the league double over Bedford last season, winning 3-1 at Haig Avenue on August 16, 2025, and 3-2 at Bedford on January 17, 2026. Jordan Slew scored the stoppage-time winner in the second meeting.
Bedford began this season with defeats at Oxford City and at home to Darlington. They responded on Tuesday evening with a 2-1 home win over Buxton.
The visitors are managed by Harry Smart, who was in charge when Bedford’s 2026-27 Enterprise National League North fixtures were announced. The club described the trip to Southport as a repeat of the corresponding August meeting from last season.
