Southport lose 2-0 at Spalding United for third straight defeat
Southport suffered a third consecutive defeat after losing 2-0 to Spalding United in the National League North on Saturday, September 5.
A below-par performance produced little threat from the visitors, while Spalding scored once in each half.
The home side took the lead in the 26th minute when Bart Cybulski capitalised on a sloppy goal. Southport enjoyed a short spell of pressure after the break but failed to register a shot on target.
Spalding added a second goal in the 75th minute. The attendance was 725.
Southport return to Haig Avenue on Tuesday, September 8, when Morecambe visit for a 7.45pm kick-off.
