Stagecoach bus hits Birkdale level crossing barriers in Southport

A Stagecoach bus hit the level crossing barriers in Birkdale yesterday evening smashing it to the ground.

The bus suffered a shattered windscreen.

9:20PM TUESDAY 26th JULY - ROAD CLOSURE

Due to a traffic collision at Birkdale level crossing, road closures are in place, as the barriers will remain down for some time, while repairs take place.

This means traffic will be diverted along ALMA ROAD onto UPPER AUGHTON ROAD at one side and onto YORK ROAD from the junction of WELD ROAD and YORK ROAD at the other side of the level crossing.
