Star Performance by Renshaw Leads Southport to Victory over Curzon

match repoer

A very welcome 1-0 win in a game of few chances but Southport managed to finish the one clear cut one of the night and take all three points.

With Chris Renshaw in outstanding form against his old club the visitors were unable to find a way through the home rearguard in which Tom Moore was once again in commanding form.

Curzon have become a bit of a bogey sidee of late and after two 1-0 defeats earlier this season it was nice to exact revenge by the same margin.

A 12th league clean sheet for Chris.

The only goal came after a great bulid up down the left saw the cross come in and partially cleared to Owen Lunt whose shot cannoned off the returning Marcus Carver (nice assist) into the path of the in form Dior Angus who coolly slotted the ball home fom 10 yards out for his 5th league goal of the season.

Line Up : Renshaw, Doyle, Lunt, Knight-Percival, Carver(Evans 78), Angus (Proctor 78) Quansah, Moore, Hilton (Burgess 90+4) Minihan(Pickles 78) Philliskirk.
