Statement from Cllr John Pugh regarding the closure of Southport Pier

Cllr John Pugh has issued the following short statement on the continued closure of Southport Pier.

" The prolonged closure reinforces my view that there is currently more thought going into future projects than into the preservation, exploitation and protection of our existing assets. We don’t live in the future but everyday there are people who want to walk down the Pier,Lord St or through Cambridge Walks and the Council needs to be aware of that."
