Still no comment from police after body found on Lord Street in Southport

A body was found on Good Friday in the memorial gardens next to the Monument in Southport. The emergency services erected screens around the area and cordoned off the scene. At the time the police said"enquiries are still ongoing" at this time. Officers currently remain at the scene "while the relevant people are contacted"

Since then, the Police have said nothing despite requests for more information.

Hopefully the next few days will bring an end to the speculation in the town centre bars and cafes .
