Strong winds blow sand onto Ainsdale Beach in Southport. Council try to remove it

Strong winds have covered Ainsdale beach car park in deep soft sand, making it difficult to drive and park on.
Green Sefton rangers are working hard to clear the sand from the car parking area.

The beach car park is open but visitors park at their own risk

We are unable to allow horse boxes and other heavy vehicles onto the beach car park at this time
