Suthport man one of nine charged with various crimes

Police can confirm that nine people have been charged with various offences following an investigation into serious and organised crime.

Yesterday (Thursday 14 May), warrants were carried out at addresses in Liverpool, Sefton and Knowsley as part of an investigation into the supply of Class A and B drugs.

At one address, officers found a shotgun, assault rifle, a revolver and two other rifles, which have now all been tested and confirmed to be viable.

We also found a large quantity of cannabis and Class A drugs.

The following people have now been charged:

Scott Batin, 37, of Richard Kelly Drive, in Walton, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

  • Three counts of making indecent images of children

  • Possession of extreme pornographic images

Alexander Murray, 41, of Tedder Avenue, in Southport, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

  • Possession of criminal property

Jason Hannon, 55, of Aigburth Drive, in Aigburth, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

Jamie Batin, 35, of Bowring Park Road, in Liverpool, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

  • Possession of criminal property

Lewis Davies, 34, of Waterford Road, in Belle Vale, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

Sean Reynolds, 37, of Scarisbrick Crescent, in Walton, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

  • Supplying a Class A controlled drug (heroin)

Benjamin O’Connor, 32, of St Christopher’s Drive, in Huyton, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

  • Permitting premises to be used for production of cannabis

Samantha Moran, 36, of Parr Street, in Liverpool, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

  • Conspiracy to abstract electricity

Alan Jackson, 36, of Dragon Lane, in Whiston, has been charged with:

  • Conspiracy to produce cannabis

All nine people have been remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Magistrate’s Court today (Friday 15 May).

A 41-year-old man from Walton who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of conspiracy to produce cannabis and conspiracy to abstract electricity has now also been arrested on suspicion of five counts of possession of a firearm.

An 11thperson – a 42-year-old woman from Maghull - has also been arrested on suspicion of three counts of possession of a firearm, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (cocaine) and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.

These two people remain in police custody.
