Teenagers from Ainsdale and Chester Brought to Account for Violent Disorder

Detectives investigating incidents of violent disorder in Merseyside have charged a further two males.

A 16-year-old male from Ainsdale, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with violent disorder and burglary which occurred in Southport on Tuesday 30 July. He was captured on CCTV throwing missiles at officers and stole items from a shop. He has been bailed with conditions to appear Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday 17 December.


A 16-year-old male from Chester, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and violent disorder in Liverpool on Saturday 3 August. He was seen throwing missiles and fireworks at officers in Liverpool, and was found in possession of a knife. He has been bailed with conditions to appear in Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday 24 December.
The total of people arrested by Merseyside Police has now reached 157, with 112 charged and 178 years and 10 months sentencing for the 85 people that have been sentenced so far.
