The Old Bank in Southport makes clothes donations plea for event to help Ukrainian refugees
The Old Bank is appealing for donations of clothes, dried food and toiletries as part of a special event to help both women and children fleeing Ukraine and a local charity.
The Support Women and Child Refugees Fleeing Ukraine event on Tuesday, March 8th – coincides with International Women’s Day and is open to all. It will run from 12 noon until 3pm.
It was originally planned to use the day as a networking event but organisers decided it would be better to put on a charitable event amid the ongoing Ukraine invasion.
Officials will be collecting items to donate to both the International Aid Trust and housing charity Light for Life Sefton.
On the day they will be collecting: clothes, new underwear, toiletries, bedding and dried food.
All items will be distributed to both charities.
Cakes made by members of The Holy Trinity Church will also be on sale with proceeds going to the International Aid Trust to help the continuing humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
