The Spitfire Pub in Ainsdale Southport has closed down

The Spitfire Pub on Kenilworth Road in Ainsdale has closed down. Although there is no information on their Facebook page disappointed locals have posted several good luck messages to the departing landlords on social media.

That’s a shame Denise and Derek are lovely, they had a rough time from the very start. Covid hit only weeks after they took it over. Now rocketing utility bills to contend with, in turn also affecting peoples decision to eat out. Must have been a difficult decision. Wishing them both well for the future.

I could only imagine what the Monthly utilities have gone to for a place this size. (Frightening) We loved going here and wish Denise, her staff all the best.

Denise and staff are amazing and a sad loss to Ainsdale...sign of the times unfortunately.....wish Denise & Gareth and all the staff good luck in the future.....
