The Waterfront Pub in Southport will close on Sunday. Staff are devastated.

As you all now know this week is our final week trading as we close our doors permanently this Sunday (October 2nd).

I just want to start by saying a huge thank you to everyone that has visited us since our announcement and wished the staff well for the future. It’s been really nice to see the community show so much love and concern for our team members.

It’s an incredibly sad week for our team. We are all absolutely devastated that this week is our final week but, I wanted to emphasise again that the team want to go out with a bang. Every single member of our team is more driven than ever to ensure our 5 star service is delivered to every single guest.

We really do mean it when we say we want to see as many of your faces as possible before we shut our doors for good 

Please note due to us not receiving food orders due to our planned closure there may be a few items unavailable on your visit but please speak to our team and they will advise you on this.

A spokesperson for the Greene King said: “It is with great sadness that we have informed our team at The Waterfront in Southport that our lease at the pub is shortly coming to an end.

“We are working closely with our team to support them as much as possible as we enter a consultation period. Our number-one aim is to protect jobs where possible and we will explore opportunities for people to transfer to other pubs we run in the local area.

“We would like to thank all our customers and the community who have supported the pub over the years.”
