Thousands of pounds raised for Woodlands Animal Sanctuary near Southport

Woodlands Animal Sanctuary would like to thank everybody who has supported them with their fundraising activities over the past couple of weeks.

Easter weekend saw their first open day of the year, with an Easter Egg hunt and Fun Dog show, a wide variety of delicious food, catering for all tastes, games galore, stalls to browse and of course not forgetting the beautiful animals they have on site.  Both their long-term residents, who can you help to support and keep up to date with by joining their sponsorship scheme and the most deserving cats, and guinea pigs who are currently with them, waiting to find their second chance of a happy ever after.  This event raised just over £4000, which for one day is a superb amount, and will go a long way to covering their cost for a week.

The weekend just gone, saw the team and supporters of Woodlands donning their best outfits to attend their annual spring ball.  A friendly night of fine food, fundraising, live music and dancing, held at the wonderful Briars Hall in Lathom.  With ticket sales and the two raffles drawn on the night this event raised over £2000 - 100% of which goes towards the cost of care of the animals they have with them at the moment.

They say things come in threes and the third celebration this Lancashire animal rescue is celebrating is one of their supporters has won the £25,000 jackpot on their weekly £1 lottery, run externally by Unity Lottery who are administered by Sterling Management Centre Limited, licensed and regulated in Great Britain by The Gambling Commission.  For every £1 entry, Woodlands receives 50p per week which goes directly towards the care of the animals who are currently seeking sanctuary with them, whilst the other 50p goes towards the prize pot and admin cost at Unity. If you supported Woodlands at any of these events, they would just like to say – thank you!  Without the support of people like you, at these events they quite simple would not be able to continue their life saving work.

And if you missed out, worry not – this bank holiday they have three days of their popular Tea & Tours.  Tasty cakes, a meet and greet with all the animals and supporting the work they do, what better way to spend an afternoon on a bank holiday weekend?
