Three males arrested in Scarisbrick on suspicion of "lamping"

lamping

Yesterday evening, following a live time report of lamping in the Scarisbrick area, South Rural Taskforce made straight to the area and intercepted three males with Lurcher dogs attempting to evade capture.

The vehicle the males had travelled in was located nearby and subsequently seized along with associated equipment and mobile phones. The three, who originate from the Tuebrook area of Merseyside, have since been interviewed and reported to attend court.

South RTF have a zero tolerance policy for anyone engaging in these cruel activities, and urge the public to continue to report any suspicious activity observed in our rural communities.

Lamping is a method of hunting nocturnal animals using high-powered lights, such as spotlights, flashlights, or lamps, to reveal their eyeshine.
