Three more charged with violent disorder in Southport

Three more men have been charged with violent disorder in Southport on 30 July.

The men were arrested in connection with the disorder seen in Southport and have all now been charged with violent disorder.

• Jake Joseph, 25 years, of St Thomas More Drive, Birkdale, is alleged to have thrown items at police and jumped onto a police van
• Kevin Underwood, 61 years, of Poulton Road, Southport allegedly confronted officers and threw items at them
• Nicholas Mooney, 29 years, of Jackson Close, Haskayne  is alleged to have confronted officers, thrown missiles at them and jumped on a police van before striking it several times

All have been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court this morning (Monday 30 September).

A fourth man, aged 18 from Wavertree, has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the appalling scenes in Liverpool city centre on 3 August.

The total number of people arrested for disorder in Merseyside stands at 120, with 81 charged and 56 sentenced to a combined 119 years and four months.
