Traffic jams as Marine Drive closes for the Southport Air Show 2025

The closure of the Marine Drive between the Pier and the Lifeboat Station for the Southport Air Show is causing huge traffic jams on the Marine Parade Bridge and along the Promenade.

Traffic trying to get across the bridge from the Ocean Plaza side was backed up past KFC on the Marine Drive and people were also struggling to get out of the Plaza car park.

The closure is in place until next Monday.
