Train services between Southport and Liverpool are being disrupted after trespassers entered the railway near Liverpool Central on Thursday, September 10.

Services to and from Southport are returning to normal, but some trains may still be cancelled or delayed. The disruption is expected to continue until around 6.45pm.

Passengers have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements where possible.

Tickets are being accepted on Northern services between Liverpool Lime Street and Headbolt Lane, Liverpool Lime Street and Ormskirk, and Liverpool Lime Street and Southport.

A severely limited rail replacement bus service is also operating between Sandhills and Moorfields.

Passengers should check the latest service information before travelling, as arrangements may change during the disruption.
