Trespasser causing severe delays on Southport to Liverpool line resulting in major disruption.Update

Alterations to services at Bootle New Strand Due to trespassers on the railway at Bootle New Strand the Southport and Hunts Cross line is disrupted.

Train services running through this station have been suspended between Hall Road and Sandhills. Disruption is expected until 18:00 11/10.Customer Advice:Limited rail services are operating between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross and also between Hall Road and Southport.Replacement road transport services are conveying passengers between Sandhills and Hall Road in both directions until further notice.

Buses are experiencing severe delays due to road closures required due to the ongoing incident.  Passengers are advised that valid rail tickets can be used on local Arriva bus services.

Due to an ongoing welfare incident in the Seaforth area- Southport and Hunts Cross line services remain disrupted.  A limited bus service is in operation between Sandhills and Hall Road  Trains are running between Hall Road and Southport and Liverpool and Hunts Cross.

Following an earlier welfare incident in the Seaforth area- Services are now able to resume on our Southport and Hunts Cross line.  Services will remain subject to severe disruption and possible cancellation until the full timetable is restored.
