Two men released on bail after man found dead in Bath Street in Southport last week

 Police can confirm that two men remain under investigation following an incident in Southport on Sunday 24 July.

Officers were contacted at 8pm following reports that a 57-year-old man was found dead at an address on Bath Street.

Results of a post mortem have been withheld pending toxicology reports.

Two men, a 51-year-old and a 54-year-old, were arrested the next day (Monday 25 July) and have been released on bail.
