Update after 60 year old man knocked off his bike in Southport yesterday

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We were called to the junction of St Luke's Road and Sussex Road at 8am following reports of a collision involving a Toyota Aygo and a cyclist. The cyclist was taken to the hospital for assessment of a head injury. The driver stopped at the scene. Road closures were lifted around 10.30am."

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to RTC involving a bicycle following a call at 7.51am. A man in his 60s was taken to hospital with a head injury."
