You currently do not need a ‘vaccine passport’ or negative test to attend performances at The Atkinson, however we are strongly suggesting you take a test in advance of attending in consideration of other visitors and our staff.
It is mandatory to wear a face covering when visiting The Atkinson, except when eating and drinking in the café or Theatre. If you require a face covering, please let our staff know, we will be happy to provide you with one. Some people, including children under 11, are exempt from having to wear face coverings in any setting. Furthermore, anyone with a health condition or disability, which means they cannot wear a face covering, has a reasonable excuse for not wearing a face covering.
Your guide to a safe and enjoyable theatre experience at The Atkinson
Before you visit
Wellbeing – If you or someone in your household has a new, persistent cough; a high temperature; or loses/has changes to their sense of taste or smell, have had a positive COVID-19 test result, or have been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace then you must not attend the theatre. Contact the Box Office during our normal opening hours and we will either exchange or refund your tickets.
Consider your travel options – Consider your travel options and use a car, motorcycle, bicycle or walk to the theatre where possible, in accordance with the current UK Government guidance.
Pack your face covering – It is mandatory to wear a face covering when visiting The Atkinson, except when eating and drinking in the café or Theatre.
Ticket check – Check your confirmation email or ticket for your arrival time, please also check your email correspondence for updates.
When you arrive
Test and Trace – If you have a smart phone, please download the NHS Test and Trace app and scan the QR codes located in the foyer when you arrive to help speed up entry.
Join the queue – On arrival at the venue please join the queue, ensuring you maintain a safe distance from others. Our staff will be on hand to assist you.
Cloakroom – We are asking you to bring minimal belongings as we won’t be able to offer a cloakroom service at this time.
Sanitise station – Please sanitise your hands when you enter or exit the venue.
Wear your face covering – We are strongly recommending that you wear your face covering when you enter the building. If you require a face covering, please let our staff know. We will be happy to provide you with one.
Ticket check – Your ticket will be checked on entry, on your phone or printed ticket, and your party will be directed to their seats by our helpful staff.
During your visit
Keeping your distance – During your visit please ensure you maintain a safe distance from others.
Wear your face covering – Whilst in the theatre, we strongly recommend that you wear a face covering throughout your visit, except when eating and drinking.
Contactless payments and collections – We’ve installed protective screens and introduced payment technology to allow for contactless purchases at our retail outlets. Look out for designated pick up points where you can collect online orders. We are also accepting cash.
Wash your hands – Please wash your hands before and after using toilet facilities and sanitise your hands regularly using the products provided.
Enhanced cleaning – Rest assured, as always, the theatre is professionally cleaned and disinfected every day. Common contact surfaces and toilet facilities are regularly sanitised by our on-site cleaning team.
