Travel Advice

Like train stations near other large football stadiums in the UK, Sandhills station will be very busy on matchdays. We're asking fans to help by planning ahead, leaving more time for their journeys as queues are likely and always have alternative travel options in case of unexpected disruption.

To help fans queue comfortably and safely a dedicated fan management zone is in place at Sandhills station, which worked well during the test events. We ask anyone using Sandhills station to listen to any advice offered by our team, who are there to keep everyone safe and to ensure you can travel through the station as quickly as possible.

As supporters form new match day travel habits, Merseyrail will keep doing everything we can to keep services running smoothly and make your journey easier.
