Weather warning from HM Coastguard

The Met Office is forecasting extremely strong winds, and has issued a Yellow Warning currently valid from 0100-1500 BST, Tuesday 9th April.

Southport , Ainsdale and Formby are expecting a 9.6m spring tide just after 1200.
With the tide, and high winds (around 50mph gusts), the seafront, or beach areas are not going to be the place to be.

Please avoid getting anywhere near the waters edge.
Getting that one photograph that might look good isn’t worth the risk.
If you do see anyone in trouble at the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
