A-26 Invader announced for Southport Air Show 2026
A Douglas A-26 Invader has been announced as the latest addition to the Southport Air Show 2026 line-up.
The twin-engined aircraft was originally designed as a light bomber and ground-attack aircraft. According to the event announcement, it will join the flying displays at Southport seafront on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026.
The air show is scheduled to run across both days. Gates open at 10am, with flying displays expected to begin at about noon.
The official programme also lists the Red Arrows, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the RAF Tutor, Richard Goodwin’s Jet Pitts, the Aerosuperbatics Wingwalkers, The Starlings, the Strikemaster Display Team and the Gazelle Squadron.
The A-26 Invader appeared at the 2025 Southport Air Show, making it a familiar sight to returning aviation fans. However, it is not currently shown on the event’s confirmed 2026 flying-display list, so visitors should check the official programme for the latest position before travelling.
Southport Air Show 2026 will take place along the seafront on 29 and 30 August. Tickets are on sale, with under-16s able to attend free when accompanied by an adult.
