Southport Air Show opens as three Saturday displays are cancelled
Southport Air Show has opened on Saturday, August 29, with three planned flying displays cancelled.
The cancellations are due to technical issues and adverse weather conditions outside Southport, according to the event update.
The affected displays are:
- 12.47pm – RAF Tutor
- 1.16pm – AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers
- 4pm – RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
The show is taking place on Southport seafront on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30. Gates open at 10am, with flying displays scheduled to run from around midday until 5pm, although timings can change during the day.
Visitors can still see other displays and ground attractions, including military exhibits, replica aircraft, exhibition stands, simulators and children’s activities.
Organisers will continue to monitor weather conditions and share updates through the Southport Air Show’s social-media channels.
For the latest event information, visitors should check the official Visit Southport Southport Air Show page before travelling.
