Southport Air Show preparations continue ahead of Saturday opening
Preparations are continuing along Southport seafront ahead of the 2026 Southport Air Show, which opens on Saturday, August 29.
Traders are setting up stalls along Marine Drive and in the seafront car park beside Ocean Plaza ahead of the August bank holiday weekend.
There will be no parking on the beach. Following recent high tides, the beach is reported to be extremely wet and muddy, so visitors should expect difficult conditions underfoot and should not plan to use it for normal beach activities.
Official event information says car parks will open at 9am, with gates opening at 10am. Flying displays are expected to run from about noon until 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, August 30.
Parking is £10 per car, payable on the day, with spaces available on Marine Drive and at Princes Park, the Esplanade car park and Victoria Park.
The latest Met Office forecast for Southport is less settled than the earlier expectation of sunshine and showers. Rain is expected to develop on Saturday, with heavy rain possible from late morning.
Display times are approximate and may change during the weekend, particularly if weather conditions affect the flying programme. Visitors are advised to check the event’s latest updates before travelling.
