Vue Southport announces family film line-up for October half-term
Monster-sized family adventures arrive at Vue Southport his October half-term
Families can make the most of the October half-term with brand-new animated adventures, familiar favourites and plenty of big screen fun at Vue Southport from Friday 23 October.
Leading the half-term line-up are two new animated adventures, Monster Mia and Wildwood, arriving just in time for the school holidays.
In Monster Mia, a 12-year-old girl and her pet rat arrive at the mysterious Rotwood Academy where she soon discovers that she is the only human at a school filled with monsters. As Mia attempts to keep her true identity under wraps, she finds herself caught up in an adventure that could put humans everywhere in danger.
Based on the bestselling novel and brought to life by the studio behind Coraline, Wildwood follows Prue, a young girl who ventures into a mysterious hidden forest to rescue her younger brother. There, she discovers an extraordinary world of strange creatures, warring factions and secrets as she embarks on an epic journey to bring him home.
Continuing the Halloween fun is Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. When the Farmer accidentally destroys the Flock’s prized pumpkin patch ahead of Halloween, Shaun turns mad scientist in an attempt to save the day – only for things to go spectacularly wrong. Soon the Farmer is missing and a mysterious beast is roaming the woods of Mossingham, setting the scene for a monstrously fun family adventure.
Families can also catch a recent big screen favourite for a low price of £2.49 when booked online with Vue’s Mighty Mornings, taking place throughout the school holidays. PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie sees the heroic pups crash-land on a mysterious tropical island filled with dinosaurs. After Mayor Humdinger’s latest scheme causes a dormant volcano to erupt, Ryder and the pups face a series of dino-sized rescues as they race to save the island and its prehistoric inhabitants.
For younger audiences, Vue’s Big Shorts series offers a relaxed introduction to the big screen, with dimmed lighting and some of their favourite characters taking centre stage. This half-term, Disney Junior Cinema Club 2026 gives little film fans the chance to enjoy Disney Junior entertainment together on the big screen.
Families at Vue can also enjoy Vue’s biggest and comfiest seat, the Ultra Lux. Strategically positioned to give the best possible view of the big screen, Ultra Lux seating also features an extra-wide armrest, back and leg rests that recline independently, a personal table for snacks and drinks and a state-of-the-art beverage cooler – making it the most luxurious way to immerse yourself in a great story.
Emily Heath, General Manager at Vue in Southport, said: “There’s nothing quite like getting together for a trip to the big screen during the school holidays, and this October half-term there’s a fantastic variety of family entertainment to enjoy at Vue.
“From brand-new adventures in Monster Mia and Wildwood to Shaun the Sheep’s Halloween mischief and the return of the PAW Patrol pups, families can experience some brilliant stories together on the big screen and make the most of their time off.”
