Officers investigating an assault on-board a train travelling between Liverpool Central and New Brighton are today releasing images in connection.
At just before 11pm on 26 March, the victims boarded the train at James Street station.
Two women already on the service then made homophobic comments towards the group before one them threw a full can of cider at them which struck one of the victims in the face.
One of the women then approached one of the victims and repeatedly punched her.
Officers believe the women in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.
