A woman from Lancashire has been given an 18-week prison sentence and banned from keeping animals for 10 years after causing unnecessary suffering to her seven pets .

A Rottweiler called Daisy and a Northern Inuit type dog called Harou were among the seven animals found living in a property covered in rubbish and faeces. They were visibly underweight with overgrown nails, scabby ears and dirty fur

All the animals were signed over and cared for by RSPCA Southport, Ormskirk & District Branch and RSPCA Preston & District Branch where they were rehabilitated and rehomed
