Woodlands –   Woodlands Winter Warmer Appeal

Whether you love it or hate it, most people have now accepted that summer has gone, and the winter weather is upon us.  You might relish the long dark evenings, snuggled up warm and cosy, spending quality time with loved ones, safe and warm in your home.  Or you might be longing already, for the longer days and to feel the warm sunshine on your skin, but we have to ride out the cycle of the seasons and whether the storms that come along the way.  Woodland Animal Sanctuary are launching their Winter Warmer Appeal, which asks you to help them provide all the warmth, food and comfort their animals need to not only survive the winter, but to thrive during the winter.

Last winter the animal sanctuary looked after over 100 animals over the winter period, including having their first ever litter of kittens with them on Christmas Day.  Offering emergency shelter, medical care, and a warm, safe environment comes at a cost & with temperatures dropping and costs rising again, this year the demand for help is expected to increase even further.

Alex, their Rehoming Officer says: “Winter is the most dangerous time year for vulnerable animals. Many face the freezing cold without the shelter, warmth, or food they need to survive. Our Winter Warming Appeal ensures that we can be there for every animal who needs us—but we can’t do it without the generosity of our supporters.”

You can support Woodlands through:

Donations: Monetary contributions go directly towards emergency heating, blankets, and veterinary care.
Supplies: Items such as pet food, bedding, and heat pads are urgently needed.
Volunteering: Support in animal care or fundraising efforts can make a world of difference.
Rehoming:  When one of their cats is rehomed, it frees up a space for another deserving cat, to begin their journey of a happy ever after.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help save lives this winter. For just £10, the charity can provide warmth and food for an animal for a whole week.
