Woodlands – Businesses who helped make the Summer Extravaganza the success it was.
Woodlands Animal Sanctuary wanted to not only thank, but also let you know about all the wonderful local businesses that helped them to make their Summer Extravaganza such a success.
A lot of the attractions centred around the main arena and for this the animal charity would like to thank Northwest Marquees, who once again provided the ‘big top’ tent that housed their main entertainment acts. With that, it was local dog trainers Sabre Dog training, who are based in Ormskirk who entertained with their dog agility display. Pauline was also kind enough to stay for the rest of the day and run the Human and Hound obstacle course. CD Music Academy kept the rhythm of the day going with various talented acts. They are also based in Ormskirk and offer vocal and musical instrument lessons for all ages.
The whole event was centred around the Grand Opening of their new Cattery, which they received a grant from The Pets at Home Foundation for, and without which they would not have been able to build this excellent new facility. The team, were therefore very grateful that Amy from The Pets at Home Foundation was able to attend this event, and do the honours of cutting the ribbon. Amy was also good enough to judge the popular dog show that ran on the day.
Hedging Uk, Sootys Plants and Forshaws Plants donated all of the fabulous plants you were able to buy on the day and the money from these sales contributed to the fabulous total of over £10,000 that was raised.
If you visited, especially with children, you will have no doubt seen the inflatable village – which seemed to provide hours of fun. The inflatable village was provided by Bounce Around Southport, with Northwest Reptile Club and Lancashire Hawks and Owls kindly bringing a selection of their reptiles and birds for people to see and in some cases touch and hold too.
Woodlands were very happy to once again welcome some of the team from Mountain Monkeys who brought their climbing wall and archery for visitors to try. The help and support they gave to everyone who joined in with these activities was incredibly knowledgeable & professional. It is also thanks to Tarleton Corinthians, that ‘Beat the Goalie’ was available, because they supplied the football net free of charge for the day.
The sanctuary also want to thank A1 Plant Hire from Rufford, for supplying them with enough cones for the day, that they were able to accommodate all of the cars that came and also keep the busy road near to them, clear and safe for other motorists.
Woodlands are so aware of just how many people it takes to make events like this happen, and they are so grateful to these businesses for offering their services and products to them either free of charge or at a discounted rate. Woodlands therefore ask, that you try to remember their names, and use their services or buy their products in the future.
