Woodlands Animal Sanctuary desperately needs your help to pay off unexpected vet bills

Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are appealing for your help!

We all know what it’s like to have bills hanging over us.  Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are no different.  Like all organisations they budget for the usual bills and a bit extra, but over the past few weeks their vet bills have been considerable higher than usual.  Their ponies have been suffering from severe asthma, due to allergies.  Bert, the goat got an abscess on his leg, Beanie their beloved mummy donkey became fatally poorly with colic, they have a full shelter of cats, and they are also caring for 8 litters of kittens.  Three of which are being hand reared.  This all-costs money and has contributed to the higher-than-normal vet bill they are trying to pay off.

The bill, currently sitting at £5000 and still growing, is an added pressure to the team as they struggle to raise the funds needed to cover the cost of the work they do.  This has come, even before the charity’s ‘busy time’.  Busy all year round, their ‘busy period’ is simply their pet name for the summer months when things go ‘crazy’ to quote the consensus of the team.  The team are expecting the number of kittens they are asked to take to increase dramatically over the next few months, as well as the usual requests for adult cats.  Recently, they have also seen an increase in the number of guinea pigs they are being contacted about to rehome.  As the holiday season approaches, they are bracing themselves for an influx of admittances and this will invariably also mean their vet bill will increase further.

Woodlands are therefore asking you, their loyal and caring supporters, if you can spare pennies or pounds, to help them clear the current £5k bill, before the next influx or admittances arrive.

If you are in a position to donate you can do so via the charity’s website:  www.woodlandsanimalsanctuary.org.uk  or from their social media platforms.
