Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are in full fundraising swing in a bid to keep up with the demands on their services.  This weekend you have two options!  Taylors Farm Shop in Lathom are having an Open Farm Day, where you can meet their animals, their team & there will be lots of activities for the kids, PLUS Woodlands will be there, with their beloved goats, Bert & Ernie, the infamous Teddy Tombola and their full range of merchandise.

Open from 10-4 there will be lots to keep the whole family entertained and you will be able to raise much needed funds for a local charity, who are really feeling the strain of a significant drop in donations due to the cost-of-living crisis.

Also on Sunday, is a stunning open garden on Crabtree Lane in Burscough.  Whilst viewing the fabulous gardens, in a beautiful and rural part of Burscough, you will also be able to enjoy delicious cakes and drinks, provided by Woodlands, with all the proceeds from the refreshments going to Woodlands and the animals in their care.

If you’re shopping in Southport on 29th July, pop along to the train station to say ‘hi’ to some of the team from Woodlands who are doing a street collection and will have the charity’s full range of merchandise available to buy too.

It feels a long way off at the moment and if you are a parent or carer of a young person in school, you may not be able to even consider events after the summer holidays, but if you would like something to look forwards to, once the schools have gone back, why not get yourself tickets for Woodlands’ Quiz night, on 30th September at Tarleton Bowling club.  A hot supper will be included in your ticket price.

If you are looking for activities for the summer holidays, Woodlands are still there to help you out, with their fabulous Family Fun Day on 19th August.  A full-on family orientated day, with a good dose of animal cuteness thrown in for good measure!  And of course, the usual tasty treats you have come to expect from a Woodlands event!

You can keep up to date with all things animal rescue, by visiting Woodland's website and following them on social media.
