Woodlands Dog Show in February
Hopefully you will have purchased your 2022 Woodlands Animal Sanctuary charity calendar to give you your monthly dose of cuteness as well as raising funds for this local charity!
But it is also the perfect place to put the dates of all the events Woodlands has coming up over the year. Kicking off in February with a fun indoor dog on 5th and a team quiz on 12th February with a hearty warming supper to ensure your grey matter gives you the right answers all the way to the end! There is a family friendly Easter Egg Hunt on 16th April, where you will be more than able to get your chocolate fix, whilst allowing your children the time and space to run off the sugar from said chocolate!
April also sees the return of the animal rescue’s annual ball, back to its usual spring time slot and returning once again to the picturesque Briars Hall in Lathom after the success of last year's ball with them. Offering a delicious three course meal, live band and Dj till late, with a couple of superb raffles you can enter on the night it’s an evening you won’t want to miss out on. Tickets available for only £42.50 per person on the charity’s website> https://www.tickettailor.com/events/woodlandsanimalsanctuary/625391
If you don’t fancy dancing the night away at the ball, you could always join the team who are doing a sponsored Midnight Walk from Southport’s iconic seafront, all the way back to the charity’s site in Holmeswood, some 10+ miles away. Set up your own sponsorship page with Woodlands, through Give as you Live and grab yourself a pair of comfy shoes to walk in!
Life at a busy independent charity is never quiet or easy, from the emotional turmoil of dealing with poorly or abandoned animals, to the stresses of raising enough money to pay for the essential lifesaving care that is required daily. But the warming feeling of making a difference makes it all worthwhile – especially when you see the happy endings and the support of people like yourself, with fundraising efforts, also makes the team feel like they are not in this fight on their own.
So please, however you support Woodlands this year, please do not underestimate the effect your support can have. To keep up to date with their latest news and events follow them on Facebook; facebook.com/woodlandsAS or visit their website: www.woodlandsanimalsanctuary.org.uk
