Woodlands near Southport – Make a difference to a cat this Christmas
Christmas is a time that should be spent with family and friends, full of good food, warmth and joy. Sadly, for the cats at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary, some will not have found that loving forever home in time for the festive period. That is why Woodlands are launching their Christmas appeal for 2022, in the form of their Festive Feline Feasts.
The sanctuary, based in Holmeswood, are asking for donations of £10 to give a cat a wonderful Christmas dinner and keep their bellies full and their beds warm, which is especially important in cases such as little Fudge.
Fudge was brought into the sanctuary with her four new-born kittens when she was found giving birth in a garden shed. Staff at Woodlands were worried that the kittens would struggle to survive as Fudge wasn’t producing enough milk. To give all four of them a chance, two were taken to be hand reared to take some of the pressure off Fudge. Thankfully, her milk didn’t take long to come in and all four babies are now back with mum and continuing to thrive.
The toll of raising a litter of kittens is huge on a cat and Fudge will need extra feeds of good quality, nutritious food to make sure she remains fit and healthy enough for her tiny babies to blossom into loving little cats.
There are cats of all shapes and sizes at Woodlands and staff are hopeful that they will all having loving homes for next Christmas. In the meantime though, you can help them have a very Merry Christmas this year by getting involved and contributing a Festive Feline Feast.
