Woodlands Nominated for Tesco's Stronger Starts Programme, Aims to Prepare for the Kitten Season
Woodlands – Cats, Blue Tokens & a Quiz
Whether you are thinking about doing your food shop, are looking to give a deserving cat a loving happy ever after or want to get some of your friends together for a Quiz, Woodlands Animal Sanctuary have something for you!
This Sunday, 4th February, they are holding their second Adoption Day at their site in Holmeswood, from 1:30 – 4pm. Free to go, you can find out everything you need to know about rehoming a cat from this local animal rescue. Have all your questions answered and of course, you can meet all the cats they have available for rehoming. Please do note though, that they DO NOT have any kittens currently. All the cats that are available for rehoming are 5 months or older. It is also worth noting, that Woodlands will not rehome any of their current cats to a home that already has a cat.
Talking of kittens, Woodlands have been nominated for Tesco’s Stronger Starts programme, to raise money to help them prepare for kitten season. This typically starts around April time and runs at full speed until sometimes now even the end of Autumn. £1,500, or either of the other winning amounts, will be put towards the copious amounts of kitten milk, cotton wool, miracle nipples & the weaning food they will need, to care for these kittens. Last year saw the team welcoming kittens from March all the way through to November. With many of those litters needing to be hand reared around the clock. This is done by their small, dedicated team of volunteers, who welcome these vulnerable babies into their homes to nurse them through their most vulnerable times.

Tickets are £12 and include a delicious hot supper and all the proceeds will go towards looking after the cats, ducks, ponies, goats and hens that are currently finding their sanctuary with Woodlands.
