Northern line services through Moorfields return to normal after track inspection
Merseyrail says Northern line services through Moorfields are returning to normal following a safety inspection of the track. Some cancellations and delays may continue while services recover, with disruption expected until 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 21. Passengers are advised to check trains and allow extra journey time.

Eleven larger bins installed around Crosby coast in Sefton litter trial
Sefton Council has installed 11 larger bin units around Crosby Coastal Park and nearby beach areas to help reduce litter. The weather-protected bins will receive colourful coverings to improve visibility. Visitors are asked to use them, find another bin if one is full, or take rubbish home.

Birkdale Tower residents celebrate The Open with golf day
Residents at Birkdale Tower Care Home marked The Open with a friendly putting competition, certificates and awards. Patricia Dutton and Angela Taylor each achieved a hole-in-one. The event was especially meaningful for Angela, a former Royal Birkdale Golf Club member who still gives speeches there.

Mr Motivator to appear at this year’s Southport Flower Show
Derrick Evans MBE, known as Mr Motivator, will appear at Southport Flower Show on Sunday, 23 August. He will share motivational health and wellbeing advice at The Lakeside Reset at 12.45pm. The show runs at Victoria Park from Thursday, 20 August to Sunday, 23 August.
