02 EnvironmentFly-tippers could face 20 hours of unpaid clean-up work under plans
Government proposals would allow councils to issue conditional cautions requiring fly-tippers to complete up to 20 hours of unpaid community clean-up and recover clearance costs directly from offenders. The consultation also follows higher proposed on-the-spot fines, vehicle-seizure guidance and plans for a Tackling Waste Crime Alliance. It closes on October 16, 2026.
