Two Southport employers named for underpaying 25 workers
Community Care Direct Limited and Hoghton Street Dental Care Limited were named among employers found to have underpaid staff. The Southport businesses failed to pay £3,735.76 to 18 workers and £1,449.52 to seven workers respectively. The Fair Work Agency says employers should check payroll and correct mistakes.

Man arrested after knife incident at Southport flats
A 31-year-old Southport man was arrested after reports of threats and concern for safety at flats on Avondale Road. Residents were evacuated while emergency services attended, and officers later dealt with the man after he entered a communal area carrying a large kitchen knife. No one was harmed.

Police say new facial recognition system will target serious offenders
