Services between Southport and Liverpool are returning to normal after trespassers entered the railway near Liverpool Central. Some cancellations and delays may continue until around 6.45pm. Passengers should check before travelling, with alternative ticket arrangements and a severely limited replacement bus service available.

Merseyside Police’s AI Bobbi provides answers to frequently asked, non-emergency questions using approved policing information, helping reduce pressure on 101. It cannot handle emergencies or crime reports, but conversations can transfer to Digital Desk operators, available around the clock for further support.

Southport FC Foundation launches free memory café at stadium
Southport FC Community Foundation is opening the free Sandgrounders Memory Cafe at the Volare Lounge from 29 September. Running Tuesdays from noon to 3pm, it will offer music, conversation and traditional games for people experiencing forgetfulness, with carers and partners welcome.
