Liverpool Road closed after horror smash

Liverpool Road in Southport is closed both ways close to the cemetery after the driver of a vehicle lost control and smashed into a tree this morning(9th August)

Emergency servives were called at approximately 8.35 to the accident.

It has been confirmed the man aged 70 has seriously injured his shoulder but his condition is not life threatening.

Local diversions are in operation until the road is cleared.
