New Text Relay Service at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre Enhances Visitor Experience

text

WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre is implementing new changes to make our site more accessible for all. Recently, we provided basic British sign language training to our staff and volunteers and introduced an available-to-hire sensory bag with fidget toys, bird checklist sheets, and headphones.

Now, Martin Mere is pleased to announce that we have provided awareness training to our employees for people using the text relay service and put a dedicated phone line in place for people using the app.

Our dedicated text relay line can be accessed by calling 01704 892343 from 9:30am until 5pm using the free Relay UK app. The app is downloadable on your smartphone or computer, and more information on how to download the app can be found on the Relay UK website. Or you can also use Relay UK via your Minicom or Uniphone.

This service allows you to type to a relay assistant, who communicates your message to us, and then they will type back our replies to you.

We will continue to improve our accessibility at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre. If you have any suggestions that you would like us to consider, please email [email protected].
