Southport travel to Bradford Park Ave for last match of the season on Saturday

The curtain comes down on our season on Saturday with a trip over The Pennines to face Bradford Kick Off 3pm.

Bradford will be conducting a minutes applause on the 56th minute of our match in a show of respect for their local neighbours Bradford City.

This year will mark the 37th anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies in world football, and we will show our support alongside the people of Bradford.

It’s been a strange season with a poor start, although at the time we were playing some very good football, but sat at the wrong end of the table at the start of October. There followed a rapid rise up to 5th place grinding out wins before a late season fall off in form coupled with a dreadful run of injuries saw us slip down the table.

It would be great to end the season with a win and raise everyone’s spirits as we head into the summer break.

Southport will end the season on the plastic pitch at Bradford in the gold kit.

It is a game between two out of form sides with Southport without a league win in 13 games and Bradford without a win in 6, their last four home games have all finished 0-0 but two of those have been against sides in the play offs.

We have enjoyed great support on the road this season and a massive thank you to “The Yellow Army” who have organised the coach travel enabling our supporters affordable travel to the games..

The coach to Bradford is filling fast and has been subsidised by Paul from Pinetree Garden Maintenance at just £10 per head. One last chance to get behind the lads and finish the season with the win.
