Woodlands Animal Sanctuary near Southport – Beautiful sisters Arianna and Ash.

At the beginning of the week Woodlands Animal Sanctuary received a phone call about a young kitten who had been found, alone, likely abandoned, with a swollen leg and foot.  Due to the age of this kitten and the unknown nature of the injury, time was of the essence and two of the charities wonderful volunteers Jo & Roy interrupted their well-earned day off, to collect this little baby from the finder.  Upon collection the little girl was rushed to the vet.

This little girl has, at some point had wire wrapped about her leg, which has caused swelling and for her to not be able to weight bear.  She has been given anti-biotics from the vet, and Woodlands are able to give her the time she needs to recover, in safety.  The team are hoping that with this, she will regain full use of her leg.

As Jo knew the area where this little kitten was found, she strongly suspected that there would be at least another kitten and after a little search Jo did indeed find her sibling.  Both of these kittens are now safe in Woodlands care and a trap will be set up to hopefully find their mummy.

It is very likely that this kitten will require further veterinary treatment, and as the financial effects of a global pandemic are now well as truly being felt by this local animal rescue Woodlands are appealing for financial help for this little kitten, her sister and hopefully their mum.

There is never any hesitation from the team at Woodlands to assist in an emergency, but the funds are needed to be able to cover this care and action.  The team are asking if you are able, to please help them secure the future of these babies.

These sisters are now learning to eat solid food, without the benefit of their mother's milk, and with them being only 3-4 weeks old every day is an adventure, now they are in a loving safe environment.
