Not a single Conservative or Labour Councillor elected in Southport

The counts are complete from yesterdays full council elections where all 66 seats, 3 in each of the 22 wards were up for election.

Southport has seven wards, 21 seats

  • Majority by Liberal Democrats with 17 seats

  • Reform with 4 seats

  • Loss of Birkdale Labour Sonya Kelly who is so respected in that ward

  • No seats for Conservatives

  • No seats for Labour

  • Labour retain overall control of Sefton Council

Full voting details and counts will be reported later. Certainly a higher turnout of voters in all seven Southport wards from 2024.
