Southport 1 Spennymoor 4 Match Report

Southport slide to a home defeat against a livley Spennymoor side.
After looking so strong defensively for the past few games it all fell apart and we were comprehensively beaten 4-1.
Spennymoor took the lead through Glen Taylor in th3 37th minute, his 198th goal for Spennymoor (not all against us as someone suggested last night) and could have been 4 up at half time but for some great saves from Chris Renshaw in the Southport goal.
The second half saw a much improved display from the Sandgrounders and after Connor Evans was fouled in the box in the 71st minute the referee pointed to the spot and Dior Angus confidently despatched the penalty,
The lead lasted 4 minutes before Matty Dolan’s well executed free kisk flew into the goal.
Worse was to follow a minute later as a worldy from Junior Mondal from 25 yards out flew into the goal and 4 minutes after that the fate was well and truly sealed when Aidan Rutledge who had been on the field for only a couple of minutes completed the scoring.
A very disappointing night for the home side all round.
